    Les Korankos sont un peuple de 300 000 personnes qui occupe une région du Nord-Est de la Sierra-Leone, au contact de la Guinée. Cette fascinante paire de têtes en bois qui fait partie d'une collection privée ornait la case du chef ou du sorcier de l'un  de leurs villages. Outre leur forte expressivité, leur particularité réside dans l'abondante chevelure de raphia cousue directement dans le bois.

     The Korankos are a people of about 300 000 souls living in the North-Eastern part of Sierra-Leone, on the Guinean border. This extraordinary pair of wooden heads - which belongs to a private collection - is said to have ornated the hut-door of the chief or the medicine man of one of their  villages. Apart from their strong expression, they are remarkably ornated with an abundant hair, made of raphia fibers and sewn right inside the wood.
